Few tips that can extend the life of your jewellery

Regular cleaning with warm soapy water and a soft brush makes a big difference, especially around the stones, where dust and cosmetic build-up tend to collect. While cleaning your rings, it’s also worth checking that the settings are holding the stones securely. Take your jewellery off before engaging in physical activities such as working out, swimming, or gardening — these can expose your pieces to knocks, pressure, or chemicals that may damage the metal or loosen stones.

Household cleaners and cosmetics often contain chemicals that react with metals and delicate stones. Perfume and hairspray, in particular, can be especially harsh on pearls. If you don’t already, it’s a good habit to put your jewellery on last, once you’ve finished getting ready. This helps keep stones bright and prevents product build-up over time.

It’s also best to remove fine jewellery before going to bed. Delicate chains can catch or pull, and detailed drop earrings, with or without stones, are better taken off at night.

For necklaces, we use different stringing depending on the design, from natural or synthetic silk to nylon-coated steel rope. Each method is carefully chosen to ensure durability. To help extend the time between re-stringing, keep necklaces dry and remove them before bed. With regular wear, re-stringing may be needed every 12 to 18 months, depending on how often the piece is worn.

Store your jewellery somewhere dry, and keep each piece separate in the box or pouch provided to prevent scratches. Most items, apart from pearls and strung pieces, can be cleaned with warm, soapy water and a soft toothbrush, especially around stones or textured details where dust tends to settle.
